Fight The Flu With Homemade Turkey Soup Remedy

Hopefully you haven’t caught the cold or flu this winter… But if you have, I have the perfect homemade turkey soup remedy! By substituting a few simple ingredients, I have turned this delicious recipe into a healthy meal filled with fiber to keep you feeling full.

Turkey Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery
  • 4 cups turkey broth- (remaining water after done boiling turkey)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried summer savory
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups cubed cooked turkey breast
  • 1 cup mixed whole grain rice medley
  • 2 cups frozen organic mixed veggies


Directions

  1. Boil whole turkey for 2 hours in 4-6 cups of water until meat falls off bones
  2. Remove excess turkey meat from bones for use in soup
  3. Drain and use this water for broth
  4. Dice carrots, celery and onions and bring to a boil
  5. Add whole grain rice medley, frozen veggies and cubed turkey breast
  6. Add spices to taste
